Same-Day Crowns in San Francisco

One visit. One dentist. A crown shaped to match your own tooth — scanned, designed, and milled in our Sunset District dental office.

What “same-day” really means For most crowns, there is no need for messy impressions, a temporary crown, or weeks of waiting between visits. Dr. Timothy Loo scans, designs, and places your crown in a single appointment.

How It Works

How Same-Day Crowns Work at Our San Francisco Dental Office

Dr. Timothy Loo uses digital scanning, custom design software, and in-office milling to create many dental crowns in a single visit.

1

Pre-Op Scan

Before anything else, Dr. Loo takes a 3D scan of your tooth and bite. That gives him an exact starting point so your new crown can match the shape and function of your natural tooth.

Custom Design

Dr. Loo designs your crown himself on screen, fine-tuning the contours, bite, and fit before it is made.

3

Milled In-House

The design goes to our in-office mill, which carves your crown from a solid ceramic block while you wait.

4

Placed and Polished

Dr. Loo checks the fit and bite, then bonds the crown in place. You leave with your finished tooth the same day in many cases.

An Honest Note About Same-Day Crowns

Same-Day When It Makes Sense

We use same-day crown technology whenever we can, and most crowns are done in one visit. Some cases still need more than one appointment, including implant crowns, very large or complex restorations, or materials like gold that have to be made in a dental lab.

Dr. Loo will tell you up front which applies to you. We would rather be straight with you than overpromise.
